Volunteer Opportunities
Become a Shelter Volunteer: Be the Bright Spot in a Rescue Pet's Day!
Volunteers are the heart of our mission. Every day, our staff works hard to provide basic care, but it is the extra love, attention, and socialization from volunteers that help our animals decompress and find their forever homes. Whether you have an hour a week or a whole day, you can make a difference in a homeless pet's life.
Our Volunteer Opportunities
We have a variety of ways to get involved, from hands-on animal care to supporting our events.
1. Daily Care: Feeding & Cleaning
Help us keep our animals comfortable, healthy, and happy. These foundational roles are crucial for maintaining a clean and welcoming environment.
Duties:
Cleaning kennels/cages, washing food and water bowls, doing laundry, restocking supplies, and preparing feeding areas.
2. Dog Walking & Enrichment
Walkers are needed to ensure our dogs get regular exercise, mental stimulation, and much-needed time outside of their kennels.
Duties:
Leashing and walking dogs, playing in our designated fenced-in areas, providing basic socialization, and assisting with enrichment toys (like Kongs).
3. Weekend Adoption Event Volunteers
Help us showcase our adoptable pets to the public! These events are often the best way for our animals to meet potential families.
Duties:
Assisting with event setup, handling dogs, providing information to potential adopters, and helping with clean-up afterwards.
